Degassing of high points in in sludge lines

I think I understand. The volume of sludge in the piping between the low points on either side of a high point should be equal to the volume of sludge that can generate gas that needs to be vented. This could be substantial and require a large commitment form O&M staff to maintain. Ergo, Air...

Degassing of high points in in sludge lines

Digested sludge is such yucky stuff that an automatic method to do anything is almost impossible. I like your idea of a "dead end", but I don't follow your explanation. I would put a size on size tee at the high point and a blind flange on the third leg of the tee. Tap the blind flange with a...

    Wastewater Forcemain Thrust Blocks

I agree with bimr. Thrust restraint in piping keeps it from separating at joints where thrust exists (eg. bends, tees, dead ends). If all connections are fusion bonded, then no separation can occur and there is no need for thrust restraint.

    eccentrically loaded support angle design

This may soiund like a simple question to some of you, but I have worked in water and wastewater all my life and now I have a structural question that I am having difficulty resolving. I am trying to determine the stress that an eccentrically loaded angle may exert when mounted on on a thin wall...
