I cant figure why is Mcr in SCI P397 "elastic design of single span steel portal frame buildings Eurocode 3" calculated as Mcr = (C^2)*Cm*Mcr0 as you can see on picture below
And why is it calculated in SCI P363 "blue book" diferently as you can see on picture below
Hey! sorry for not answering! Well I am following "design of steel portal frame buildings eurocode 3" guide and it demands that constant in step by step solution. I will go for now with conservative solution.
I will use section properties for comapring results. I want to calclate it by hand to and use python to calculate tapered section properties from generalised function.
this is formula in SCI_P363(3.2.6)...

I dont know how to treat this kind of section or how midle flange afects warping ![ponder]
Now you made me think... Flanges of this section are class 1 so not susceptible to warping, i think??
If I treated it as a single I section web would be more slender. I guess...
