O rings compatibility for DEU exchanger

@georgeverghese If we assume that the lower end temperature is not an issue, and that the m-factor of the new o-ring material is same, can the o-ring material be changed without performing any Div-2 gasket design calculations?

O rings compatibility for DEU exchanger

Dear All, A high pressure ASME Div 2 DEU-type exchanger has silicon o-rings in the channel head cover. We need to evaluate change of service of the exchanger from syn-gas to liquid ammonia (@ same pressure/temperature). Silicon is not suitable for ammonia service. Can I just replace the...

How to determine whether a nozzle n

As per compress software calculations, for div 1 , the relevant sections for nozzles are: > UG-37, UG-40 : for reinforcement Area Calculation > UG-41, UW-16, UW-15: Loading on welds > UG-45, UG-27: Nozzle Thickness

thickness loss evaluation- ASME VIII Div 1 vessel with 0 design corrosion allowance

I just want to confirm if this approach is correct. Can the original code be used this way , or is an API 579 FFS assessment necessary once the corrosion allowance (if any) of a vessel is exceeded?

thickness loss evaluation- ASME VIII Div 1 vessel with 0 design corrosion allowance

An ASME VIII Div 1 vessel with 0 design corrosion allowance has thickness loss on the shell and nozzles. >Can I calculate the minimum design thicknesses of these components using the original year 1995 design code and then use these as an additional margin compared to the actual vessel...

    Asset integrity management system

Dear All, My company (large ammonia/urea plant) is evaluating implementation of an Asset integrity management (AIM) system. We have already been using SAP for 10+ years. Is SAP good enough for AIM or are other services like Meridium , VAIL etc better? I'll be grateful if you can share...
