Load Flow Voltage Distortion Across Transformers

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I am more informed and appreciate the knowledge shared.

Load Flow Voltage Distortion Across Transformers

I am performing a load flow study for a low voltage distribution facility (480V) with step down transformers to 208V using SKM. Can anyone explain why the % V.D across a transformer differs when I change taps on the high side vs on the low side. In other words, -5.00% on the primary side does...

    SKM Generator Field Current

Sorry, I forgot to specify that the whitepaper goes ahead and uses the 0.88 Amps in the per unit slot in SKM. If I have to manually calculate it, would I have to contact manufacturer for base field current? I don't think i'd use the generator FLA as that would be my armature current, correct?

    SKM Generator Field Current

Hi everyone, I am modeling a generator decrement curve on SKM and am using a whitepaper published by Cummins (link below) to model the decrement curve. On page 2 it says the no load field current, Ifg, is obtained from the alternator submittals and is 0.88 Amps. However, SKM asks for the per...

Generator Armature Time Constant vs DC Time Constant

On SKM's generator ANSI Contribution tab, Tdc is an input in the bottom right, and in the Decrement Curve tab SKM now uses Ta.

Generator Armature Time Constant vs DC Time Constant

I am modeling a generator using SKM and don't really understand the difference between the armature time constant, Ta and the DC time constant Tdc. I tried using Glover's analysis and design textbook but still cannot determine what the difference is. He provides the equation idc =...
