you can just define soft springs in a manner that your model will not be singular, i.e. so that tou will have stiffness in all directions. Where you put your springs does not matter as they are soft in order not to disturb your analysis.

Strange enough, as far as I know there are no documentation about the punch format. At least thats what they told me at their support. I suggest you use the print command and send your data to the .f06 file. When you have done that, then you can identify the punch format by comparing numbers...
