    304 electropolishing pitting?

Just a follow up... We looked into silver coating but it was cost prohibitive We may experiment with moly-sil dry lubricant coating, having trouble predicting the life span of it, however Current plan is masking the male threads from electropolishing. that seems ok so far Seems like the silver...

    Thin Wall Tube Forming Limitation

Thanks all! This helps a lot, I will abandon this idea for a sleeve. It's an option, I was just noodling with the idea of doing it with a form as a cleaner and more economical option, sounds like that's not the case. Laser welding is used elsewhere on the assembly so that's an option. I'll...

    Thin Wall Tube Forming Limitation

Hi all, I'm impressed by what's possible in thin wall tube forming but I'm concerned my current design isn't possible. I'm disconnected from the fabricator and I'm interested to know if this is possible before I go much further with it. It's .039" wall, 1.5" OD, 304 SS On the OD, I'd like to...

    304 electropolishing pitting?

Thank you TBE and Ed, I'm not using the best definition of roll formed threads. Think the threads you would see on a consumer stainless water bottle. Same concept, 0.039" stainless with ~ 1"-4 thread size The rolled formed section is welded to other pieces after it's formed so EP after...

    304 electropolishing pitting?

Hello! We have 304SS rolled thread parts that screwed together like butter prior to electropolishing. Now they've become very sticky, almost unusable. Wondering what the thoughts of the forum are? I'd love to add some lubricant but the parts will be cleaned 1-7x per week with rubbing alcohol
