I am putting potting the thermocouple into a stainless steel can, but the Constantan is going to be exposed to this elevated temperature. If air (oxygen) can get to it in anyway, the copper is going to oxidize. I suppose some form of ceramic coating could help, but if the material is resistant...
Thermopile is basically a series of Thermocouples in series. I'm really interested in getting to an alloy that will give me the best corrosion resistance at high temps, so that's why I kept this in the material area.
I'm not actually worried about temperature measurement. I'm using the EMF as a power source, think like the thermocouple on your water heater that keeps the pilot lit. I just want to make sure I have material that won't corrode away. The high mV/deg is precisely why I want to use it for a power...
I am trying to develop a device that would use a Copel/Chromel thermocouple in a application that might see temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C). I understand that the Copel or Constantan material would be at or exceeding it's upper limits, so I am looking for an alloy that may extend the life of...
I have a question related to thread562-235491
Basically it is a question on how to make GD&T symbols generate to a .dxf or .dwg and the mapping of the Font files.
I am using Map Symbols MapSym.ttf for a couple symbols on my 2D drawings, when I generate them to .dxf and bring them back in they...
Beachcomber! That is perfect. It didn't even occur to me to try it that way, but for what I'm trying to do it works. Maybe not as good as having the style changes in the callout dialogue modified by the saved settings, but better than having to change them individually.
Thanks!
Anyone using the 'saved settings' in the callout function?
I would like to use it, but when I select the saved name, it puts the proper text into the box, but does not do anything to the font style or the size. It seems to keep the default style, color, and size.
Is there anyway to make the...
Not bad, but it messes with the entire font base. With the dimension font changed to symbols any additional text inside of the dimension is converted as well.
I discussed this with a tech from Seimens and apparently the Character Map was not 100% compatible in version ST2 and earlier. He was...
Just putting "what" as a prefix of the dimension?
I think that is what I am trying to do (put a symbol in front or behind a dimension), I just can do it the way I want to in SolidEdge.
(Off topic, I don't set the policy, I'm just trying to figure how to comply, without making my job...
We want to use a Star and a Diamond to denote a Major or Critical Characteristic. We had been using the Map Character font $ and ", which give a star and a diamond in windows. It also works in the text box and callout inside SE, but I need to figure out how to put it in as part of the dimension.
Is it possible to change the Special Characters in the Dimension Prefix command? I don't use the characters that are there, but would like to use my own characters. It has to be some sort of font that the %IL points too, anyone know where these are kept? I don't mind if the character I am...
In our business we use a number of silicon diaphragms, both gum rubber and Liquid injection Molded (LIM). We have had at times had parts that were under cured (we believe) and were extremely sticky especially when exposed to heat and humidity (I realise silicone is inherently sticky). Does...
