Actually, you're right. I tried a rigid link (one end fixed and the other end pinned) and it works perfectly. Also, I asked this RISA support team and they responded with the same solution.
Hi everyone,
I am modeling a shoring system consisting of soldier piles and walers in RISA3D. My question is about some connections between a pile (column) and a waler (beam). As shown in the attached image, the waler and pile are next to each other (kind of overlapping) and not a...
Thanks, Dave for your response. I don't think in SAP2000 we will be able to read the forces of line springs.
Since the springs work against the movement/displacements, they work similarly to the passive soil. That's why I say if we use springs then we should not add passive pressure. Otherwise...
Hi all,
I am working on a shoring system project modeling both in sap2000 and plaxis3d. in sap2000, I used line springs to simulate the soil for the embedded pile which is confined by the soil around it. I want to know should consider the soil passive pressure for the same part that has springs...
I am using sap2000 software to model a caisson structure only using thin concrete shells. It has a bottom slab and some vertical walls with no top slab. So no beams and columns are used in the model.
For supports, the bottom slab is restricted only in the vertical direction.
After the analysis...
