Drawing Layers are Driving me CRAZY!!!!

sundevil98, As for your second question, I believe once you select Drawing View as your Layer level, it becomes independent of the Drawing (I guess that is the purpose of having a pick for it!)...

    Blue Tinge When Zooming.

Are you using a flat-panel LCD? I have seen similar effects on them (which is why I prefer a CRT)...

    pick many for "hiding" components

I hide components more and more. The reason is because it is sometimes easier to see what is going on since the icon in the model tree changes when a component is hidden. With layers it is sometimes harder to tell which components are blanked (especially if the assembly was created by someone...

    Helical Datum Curve?

I am not sure I understand your design intent exactly. But one solution that works for difficult to generate patterns is to use surface transforms. Generate the first coil+transition as a surface sweep rather than a solid. If needed, merge multiple surfaces together that you wish to pattern...

    Helical Datum Curve?

If you can't get the swept blend to work with your cross section, try creating a construction surface using swept blend with a single line as your cross-section. Then you can do a Var Sec Sweep using your original path as the main trajectory and the edge of your cons. surface as the X-Trajectory.

Why is there no undo command in Wildfire - PTC?

When you accidentally modify a value, you may not know what the original value was. Then to fix your part, you would have to pull up the trail file or an older version of the part. Doesn't it seem like an Undo button would be easier than that? Also, what about accidentally deleting features...

    Rotating Components in Assemblies

ohio30, If you are applying any other constraints in addition to your Insert, it might be that the insert surface and the additional constraint are not exactly perpendicular. Does the constraint window indicate that the component is fully constrained? Andy, Use the Align/Oriented or...

    Helical Datum Curve?

If the path is continous and tangent, use a swept blend. You will have to sketch the cross section more than once, but the curve can be 3-dimensional (varying Z). Since in real life there will likely be a smooth transition from the flat part of the coil to the changing Z part, you should try...

    Rotating Components in Assemblies

Make sure the "Use Assumptions" box isn't checked... sometimes ProE will assume an orient constraint (this is supposed to make assembling screws easier).

Any Idea How to Model "liquid" in Pro/E to determine CG

If you want to model the fuel tanks when they are not completely full, you will need to model a top surface for the fuel. You can do this by creating a global coordinate system which is rotated to reflect the pitch of the aircraft (Insert/Datum/Coord Sys/Offset). Then create a datum curve...

    surface to parametric

Something that could be helpful is to create a bunch of x-sections. It may be easier to see what is going on with the surfaces if you do this. You can even measure distances between Xsection entities (points and curves) using Analysis/Measure.

    Rolled Sheetmetal Part

When you create your bend, choose "roll" rather than "angle". Then when you sketch the bend line, just "use edge" on the end of your PCB you would like to remain fixed. Create the bend on the PCB side of the edge and let the other side stay fixed. Use the tube...

Gaps between Extruded surfaces in ProE

Have you tried extending the angle iron surfaces and then trimming them back with the cylindrical surface?

    A simple question on sketch

The answer provided by ttx is exactly right. If you have a lot of dimensions and you don't enjoy clicking on so many, you can also prehighlight the dimensions by dragging a box around them and then selecting modify.

    Hole tables in drawings

Sometimes created dimensions are the only possibility. For instance if your holes need to reference something other than a coordinate system, then the shown dimensions will not be the best for manufacturing. As far as hole tables go, I do not have much experience with them, but as far as I...

    Hole tables in drawings

Since your dimensions are created ones, you must create analysis features to make the hole table parametric. Choose Feature/Create/Datum/Analysis, choose Measure,Distance and measure from whatever will serve as your ordinate zero to the axis of the first hole. You can create a Cartesian...
