I'm trying to find a field inspectors guide for Auger Cast Pile inspection. I know there is one out there but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get it?
Focht3,
I have checked with the supplier on the project we are working on and they say that the emulsified asphalt that they add to the RAP (Recycled Ashpalt Pavement) has a specific gravity of 1.006, Indicating that it is heavier than water. I always thought that the liquid form was lighter...
Where are you using it (Area of the Country?)? Make sure you have very good drainage below the asphalt. Pervious pavement is a good base material for a pavement section but is usally topped with a surface course, it is usualy not left exposed.
I have not been able to find a good source for typical specific gravities for emulsified asphalt. There are plenty of sources for asphalt mixtures but not just the emulsion. Does any have a good source or know what the typical value is?
