Biomak,
I just checked my work computer and this is the exact card that I am currently running. No problems. I havn't had any crashes, lock-ups, stray graphics, or anything.
The rest of my hardware is as follows; Dell Deminsion 8200, P4-1.7 Gig, 512M ram.

Deek05,
The answer to your question is yes and no. There wouldn't be an active link between SolidWorks and Access. You would have to write some VB code to extract or push the information. So in a round-about answer, yes you can pull data from Access and insert it into your drawings.
To get...
Mr. Cutright,
The hole idea of having more than one person working on the same assembly, ie, same file(s) is controled by Windoze and therefore, would cause a sharing violation error. That is the one point that everybody seem to be missing. There is no way to have one file opened by 2...
There it is again, the touting of subjective capabilities, and what amounts to a non-answer to the concurrent engineering question. On more than one occasion, I have read on many different forums that same old “stuff” that you have just posted. And every time the replies are generally the same...
EngrMech,
It's time to put your money where your mouth is. If Inventor is so hot, then why don't you download a copy of the MOAC from MidrangeCAD.com and fill in the blanks. And be honest.
Now before you start making accuses about why you're not going to contribute any information, or make...
Ablack,
It would seem that you know HP Solid Designer quite well. Would you be interested in sharing some details about it?

Shaun,
Have you tried to do a comparison between different packages and pass the information on to the powers that be? Would they be open to a detailed document showing the differences between Mechanical Doorstop and others? Even if they are not, continued hammering in this area may at least...
Netshop21,
If you are using the File/Properties for parts and assemblies, and are linking notes to them in the drafting environment, you can do the following;
Create your new drafting template. When you save this file, make sure that you ALSO click on File/Save Sheet Format. Now when you go...
Dubourg,
Could you explain the tern "scalable" for me, and everyone else?

Kenneth,
You're correct... We should stay on topic.
Solid Edge has "Inactive" and "Active" parts, which is the same as SolidWorks' "Lightweight" and "Resolved" parts. The Solid Edge version has not been around as long. I think it was introduced with...
Scott,
I would have to agree with just about everything that you stated above. I have to take exception with your statement "...The [Solid Edge] package is much quicker to learn than Works..." From a new user standpoint, learning Solid Edge may be easier because there isn't nearly...
Marsh,
If you know what your vacuum source is capable of supplying, that would be the best starting point. Under perfect conditions, the most static vacuum that you will ever see at the point of lift will between 25-28 in-Hg. If you are trying to lift a 90 lbs dirty bag of concrete, or an...
Mark20,
If your company is in the process of purchasing 10,00 seats of anything, it would be very wise to look a little deeper than just Solid Edge. Form a superficial point of view, Solid Edge looks great. However, speaking from experience, Solid Edge has a lot of problems (bugs) and...
Simeneizer,
Ball screws are very accurate and repeatable, with little or no back lash, depending on the level of precision. As compared to an Acme screw, a ball screw has very little drive friction and can be back driven if necessary. This low friction will reduce the size of the motor...
G. Robinson,
concerning the many rebuilds, I have found that if your assembly has MANY different circular references between various parts, it can take a couple of rebuilds to propagate the updates through the entire assembly. Could this be your situation?

Mr. cadpro_y2.001k,
I am not employed by any CAD software VAR, but I can say, with a very high degree of confidence, Dassault Systems has no plans of populating the low-end market and then force everyone into Catia. That would be very poor business and would surly drive customers away...
