Application is papermaker.
Low Pressure Steam is not corrosive to the steam piping [mild steel] or the paper machines dryer cans [cast iron].
Why is steam so corrosive to our CF8M electropolished castings? [very serious corrosion]
Even the SS316L polished shaft is very corroded - why?
Could the...
We supply equipment to the paper industry and use SS304L and 316L exclusively. We have been approached to use cheaper SS201LN and AL2003. No problems structurally, but, anti-corrosion has me worried.
How will this compare when exposed to caustic boil-outs + chlorides/chlorines and various...
Does anyone know where i may purchase a metal bellows design handbook or something similar.
I am working on a new control valve concept utilizing a bellows but want to meet all good design practice.
I need to design an =% type valve for use in controlling steam. I cannot select one, this is extremely custom due to application therefore i require custom trim fabricated by our cnc/shop.
What detailed design literature may i purchase that describes the physics of pressure & flow for...
Thanks for the feedback,
Our belief is that the vortex separators work best but this is not justified. It seems the two competing technologies [from JoeSteam above] advertise good results.
Is there no comparison literature that puts these head to head over a range of flows?
For example...
Plan on using a steam separator on a 20 psi very wet flash steam line.
There are many types out there, but which is the most efficient - barrier type, filter type, vortex type etc.
we have flows up to 20000 lb/hr.
There has been mention of not using a weldolet on thin pipes. I have seen no mention of this from Bonney F.
The 20" sch. 10 pipe has a wall thk of 1/4".
Is this not sufficient?
I have used weldolets for joining 8" sch. 10 [thk of 0.148"]with 3" sch. 40 pipe with no...
Designing a pressure piping system to operate at maximum 16 psi.
Need to use 8" pipe, but sch. 40 is way too thick and heavy. Would like to use sch. 20s pipe.[1/4" wall].
only up to 16 psi steam [300F].
Any documentation that will permit use of sch. 20S pipe instead of 40? ie, any...
