People don't know exactly how loud they are, so give them a way to measure it. Use a decibel meter or record them. Call it a Team Building exercise. Ha! Have everyone do it so no one is singled out.
You can keep them out of the NX parts list by assigning an attribute to those components in an assembly in NX.
Select component(s) in ANT that you want to not show, right click, properties>attribues> then enter one or both of these in the TITLE field:
PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER...
We don't make assemblies families using embedded families any more because of those problems. Too many loading, opening and updating problems and errors that never go away. It's been too many years to recall more details, except that I rue the day I ever set those nested families up.
So my best...
How about using Nested Assemblies? Add a column to your parts list, making sure it's a Quantity column.THen select that column>right click>style>select Columns tab>click Nested Assemblies>Select PArent component> pick one assembly from the ANT>apply.
You need a quantity column for each...
We found out that if you move the screen (using spaceball) while you're selecting, highlighting will show. We are trying to find out if this is specific to Win 7 with 7.5.4.4.
We are running Win7 64bit and still get out of memory errors on assemblies of about 400 components (file sizes of 50Mb-125Mb). Doubling the RAM and paging file size didn't help. The hard drive has 50GB of free space. When the task manager shows the peak working memory is approaching 3gig, we...
I guess either way I would have to add all the drafting and user defined symbol code to the Word spell check library. And I could create Word toolbars to insert the codes with the click of a button so I wouldn't have to type it each time. Nah! It's a good thing I can spell. It's the typing that...
There are assorted files and a readme in the folder where NX is installed to give you more information. Mine is in ...ugs050\UGOPEN\SampleNXOpenApplications\.NET\SpellChecker
It looks pretty promising. Has anyone set this up? If so, does it work as expected? I assume you have to add all the...
"Check in the load options, for allow substitution to be ON."
It was OFF, now is ON. No change.
"Were you running Teamcenter before the updgrade? Same version, same settings?"
Yes, they say nothing changed and we've been running this version for a few years.
"Are you now opening assemblies...
We just upgraded from NX2 to NX5.0.3 and are (still) using Teamcenter Engineering V9.1.3.8. When we try to update part, create part, or even just save family, we get this error:
Ivalid member name. The following member names are invalid

(These are two of the...
I did find out that if I set the customer default "Gateway>General>Update material properties from library on part load" to yes, and if I renumbered the materials in the library, that I will get a message while working in the part that the assigned material properties have changed, do I want to...
I found in NX2 that it didn't like having spaces in the names, and that it was limited to a certain amount of characters (31 is too long).
John,
If I insert new materials in the middle of the list such that the libref number for Brass, for example, changes from 26 to 27, will I be creating a...
Does the default font have to be set in each seed file, or is there a customer default that works? I have changed the default in Drafting>General>Lettering fonts, and it has no effect. I have changed it in the ugii_env file and it has no effect. By "has no effect" I mean that when I start a new...
In drafting, I have unknowingly deleted the parts list quite often. I'll update it, then go delete something and I won't see that the parts list is still highlighted. Is there a way to protect it?
We're using NX2, and I've been testing NX5.0.2 (which I like more and more), but the new hole...
