    steveKW - Yes it jumps for an instant. The old switch which has no manufacturers label is a 12 connection 16 amp 3 phase 600V AC switch with a cylindrical body and has plastic cams that activate two contacts on each of three levels. Thanks for your help.

    I have a single phase 115v reversible motor with a destroyed switch. I have four wires from the motor (there is also a capacitor) they are labeled 1,2,3 and 4 From an ohmmeter 1 and 2 give a completed circuit. What kind of switch do I need and how do I wire it.
