Need advice on torquing M12x1.75 class 10.9 bolt connecting a NV4500 transmission to an aluminum

Thanks. Actually it was 2 different GM books and a Chiltons The GM book can sometimes be hard to follow and I've had to really look to confirm that certain bolts called for sealer. On my mind any bolt that goes to aluminum needs something on it. They are only assembled with a certain lifespan...

    cracking concrete pad

Always educate yourself and set specifications when having concrete poured. Most concrete contractors in this area do a substandard job because they are competing on price with no specifications. Also in many places there are few codes that require them to do the work in a certain manner. Very...

    Powering a well pump

pumpdesigner, in your reply you stated that the power companies rules require them to provide 3 phase at no charge. I received 3 phase to my shop on a 1 mile run at no charge. At the time Illinois Power ran 1 mile free. A couple of years ago a friend was looking into 3 phase @ 1 1/4 mile & they...

    galvanized flashing against concrete

This is a simple z flashing over the rim joist to under the concrete. Residential construction so 100 year design life is not out of the question. I have done a few repair jobs where I removed concrete porches/patios & the flashing was ate up & the rim joist was rotted. I always assumed that...

    galvanized flashing against concrete

We are having a very minor dispute as to the proper flashing material to use between concrete & wood. We are flashing between a rim joist & concrete porch. I say stainless because I believe in time galvanized steel will deteriorate as would aluminum. Any official advice would be appreciated. Thanks

    topcoat

We recently poured a 26' x 30' garage floor. The finishers were 1/2" low with their chaulk line in one spot. The last truck added to much water and should have been rejected but wasn't. I need to find a good topcoat product That will work from 1/2" to 1/16" coverage. I assume that...

Fan Coil Units & Reheat Cycle

I have a related question. Can you use fan coil units with chilled water? If you did would you remove any Humidity? What would the chilled water temp have to be to have any effect? At a glance I would think that you need to have a higher flow through a fan coil unit used for cooling to get...

    120 volt ac to 18volt dc 15amp

I need to purchase or build a converter to go from 120volt ac to 18volt dc about 15amps. This is to run my Dewalt circular saw. The saw rapidly drains the batteries. I mostly use a Tennyru steel cutting blade in it. There was a previous post on this, but I can't seem to find it. Thank you for...
