Please refer Cl. 18.7.4.1 of Electr

Please refer Cl. 18.7.4.1 of Electrical Engineers Reference Book by MG Say and M A Laughton which mention power transformer stepping down from 132kV have output up to 300MVA. Anyway I got the data I wanted, Thanks

    Transformer rating

I am interested in the data and not how to calculate etc.

    Transformer rating

What is the maximum rating (MVA) of power transformer that can be used in Transformer rating. Presently we use 50/67 MVA 110, 115 and 132kV primary and 13.8kV secondary z=22% assuming we take of transmission line or cable for the revised power rating. Thanks

    Dynamic System Monitor

The question is whether Dynamic System Monitor (DSM) to be connected to metering core current Transformer (CT) or protection core. Metering core gets saturated during fault. However DSM manufacturers generally recommend Metering core CT. The problem with Protection Core is accuracy Any...

    Firewall for grounding transformer

Firewall for grounding transformer We have a specification which mentions firewall for transformer rated 5 MVA and above. Suppose in case of grounding transformer if the equivalent 10 minutes rating is 5 MVA or above whether it requires firewall. What is the practice for Zig-Zag grounding...

    PHASE DESIGNATION

We have the following requirement for phase designation for tranmission S/S : The phases in all new substations shall be designated as R (Red), Y (Yellow) and B (Blue) throughout the substation when viewed from East to West, from North to South and from Top to Bottom. For MV switchgears phase...

    Transformer Shortcircuit

Auxiliary Question for Transformer Short Circuit Suppose I would like to purchase 60MVA 132/13.8kV YNyn0d1 transformer. I would like to accept the transformer without short circuit and on the basis of calculation only. Calculation can : a. comparison with transformer (reference transformer)...

    Transformer Shortcircuit

Thanks for the replies. But I would like to have replies whether any body successfully put the transformer into service after the test. Mrrbulsara The objection is obvious. As per IEC after the shortcircuit tests, all routine tests and impulse tests (if agreed) shall be conducted. However the...

    Transformer Shortcircuit

Can we put the power transformer into service after short circuit testing per IEC 60076-5 (i.e.after the transformer sucessfully passing all the tests after the short circuit tests) in to our 132kV Grid. There are some objection from operation Dept. of our company. Please share your experience...

    MV power transformer

Yes it is possible to possible to mount transformers without wheels and what is known as skid base with anti vibration pads. All our transformers a utility in Middle East are skid base without wheels. We procure from Pauwels, ABB, etc up to 750MVA with this mounting. Just enquire with manufacturer.

    Gas Insulated Power Transformer

GIS power transformers are preferred in areas where it is not possible to accomodate mineral oil transformers (OIL TR). I would like to hear the following from those who have GIS transfomers (GIS TR) in their network. i.Perormance of GIS TR compared to OIL TR (mainteance, noise level etc.). ii...
