My desire to earn more salary made me land in Middle East leaving back my job in R & D of a manufacturing company in India where I worked for 2 years. The job I got here is in the Sales field which was very new for me but I took a chance......Being in Sales one deserves to be more aggressive and...
Hi Again,
Yes, Cbarn the ballast is just a choke in this case, the ordinary reactor type not the Autotransformer type.
If PF is considered as Steve suggests
For a PF of 0.85, Lamp wattage = 1000W, Ballast loss = 50W
Input Current, Ip = (1000 + 50)/(230*0.85) = 5 .37 A
As HID lamps operate at...
Hi All,
its understood that HId lamps operate at 110V while its running, eventhough the i/p supply voltage is 230V...........the remaining voltage being dropped across the ballast.
Now what confuses , is the current drawn by the lamp and the input current.
for example.. if the lamp...
Why is that supply voltages have been standardised to 230/240/250V...ALso in America we find it is different in different regions, 120/240/277...what are the advantages of this? Also does the frequency play role in our household equipments like tv,refrigerator...
dear scottyuk/jbartos,
well my idea is to run the synchronous motor at two speeds.we have both 12v/120V 60 Hz ,2/3 W syn motors.
We are thinking of rotating this motor at 6rpm during the first on and after one more on should rotate at 2 rpm synchronosly with the other units connected. The motor...
I need some help regarding the design of CWA ballasts.
There are different tappings on the primary of the ballasts e.g.120 V,230 V,277 V etc.
On the secondary the HPS lamp is connected via a capacitor.
B'cos of current limiting an insulation fault in the secondary coil results in a slow build...
I hope to get a book by Petruzella soon.Thank you PLCSAVVY
for the information.
I have downloaded PlC ladder logic from mrplc.com.Now I am familiarised with drawing ladder networks.Chris would you please advise what should be the next step.
I have a circuit which is used to control a 12 V dc ,3W ,stepper motor using PIC.The input supply is 120 V ac,60 Hz which is then reduced to 12 V using capacitor as impedance.
The electrolytic capacitor used after the bridge is 470 mfd,25 V.
Now I have decided to run the motor by taking 12 V...
