    All 2009 USERS!

its a new pc with a nvidia quadro fx1700, latest driver etc, and the other pc's have a normal desktop g/card. it does orbit if you create a new drawing, then put a sloid hatch in. But if we take any of the architects backgrounds that have solid fill hatch patterns, the only way to orbit is to...

Can all you 2009 users please try this to see if it is a bug. All our pcs crash if we do 3dorbit with any SOLID type hatch patterns present in the drawing. P.S dont forget to save your work first!

    Autocad 2009

It would seem that the above mentioned bugs are deliberate by acad - demandload system variable disables certain commands, so your best leaving it on. Now that i've finally solved that mystery, 2009 does offer a few nice touches that 2008 doesnt have, but you need a slightly beefier pc to run it...

    Autocad 2009

it has some very slight improvments over 2008 - but a few bugs too, like if you change anything in the: options/open & save/Object ARX applications settings, it suddenly doesnt recognise commands like matchproperies, view, mtext, justifytext, revcloud etc.. not good!

    ACAD @ not working

Anyone know why when, for example, you goto draw a rectangle, and you want it to be say 100x100, you type in @100x100. But for some reason in Acad 2006 & 2007 the @ often doesn't appear, as though the keyboard is faulty (it isn't). This problem occurs on all our cadstations. Any ideas??

Acad on windows XP 64 bit

Has anyone got the new windows XP 64 edition - and if so does acad (full version) 2005 or 2006 work on this new operating system??? Thanks.

    second moment of area

I wouldn't think so. To do it on the full version you need the command 'massprop', and the object must a solid or a region, both of which are not available on LT.

    .CTB vs .STB

Does anyone use .stb styles? I know the main advantages for using .ctb, and i think stb isn't the way to go (far too many disadvantages), but there are rumors that stb will be the way forward soon. Anyone know any advantages of stb over ctb apart from the obvious??

    PDF PLOTTING FILE SIZE

I'm plotting in B&W and can only assume that cos a PDF is a compresed file it 'unzips' itself as it plots - but i could be wrong. On our HP 1050C plotter, file size went up to 130MB form 750KB! Same dwg on OCE9400 went up to 12MB when plotting Its very strange...

Will AutoCAD recognize a scanned schematic?

I found with these converters, they only work ok with simple drawings but really bad with your average ones - better off getting them traced.

Autocad 2005 plot paper size default

Try re-installing the latest printer driver, and make sure your printing from layout, not model space as this can slow things down a bit on certain printer/plotters. If that fails try re-installing acad as a last resort.
