    Winglet effect on wing lift and drag?

    Charsat, Don't quite agree that birds don't have winglets. If you look at some birds of prey their wings definitely curve upwards at the ends during soaring - A kind of winglet I would suggest. Blended obviously!

    Many Thanks AJUK. I am correct in thinking then that with C16 Timber this modification factor is not necessary? However, if the timber was Oak it would be prudent to apply this factor to allow for it being freshly sawn? Rgds
