An example of Response spectrum analysis?

Hi there, Does anyone has a simple example for response spectrum analysis in ANSYS with excitations in more than one directions? I have an idea that it will involve few load case commands but I need a reference to validate my macro. Thanks in advance

FLOTRAN, Negative diagonal ... divergent solution

Hi Maheshh I would suggest first to check your boundary conditions and the second is to play with Inertial relaxation factor MIR stabalization, start running your model with bigger values (1.0) for few iterations and then change it to either default values or 0.1. I hope it will help

Can not draw flow trace in 3D FLOTRAN, Ansys 7.0

Hi Thanhvan I believe problem is something else and that lies in picking the flow trace points. While you were working in 2D its easy to pick up flow trace points but in 3D you have to pickup trace points on Work Plane. So move your workplane in the area where you want to pick the points and...

Problems with scratch memory while meshing

Mahesh For your meshing I believe you have to divide the bigger volume in to two. The best way is to divide the bigger volume by workplane equal to the smaller one and then glue them again before using vsweep. I am sure it will work. yeah, dont forget giving similar line divisions. best of luck...

    Shear stress in a shaft..

Hi I would suggest you to use beam44, if you wanna do it in 1D. I havnt check but you can turn on the element shape /ESHAPE and plot the stresses. Try this Rehan

    Surface to Surface Contact

Thanks for the suggestions, I am still playing with options and stiffness values. I will post my conclusions shortly.

    Surface to Surface Contact

Hi I am doing a structural analysis after interpolating body forces (temperature) from a thermal run. My model have forced contacts through bolts, two circular boxes are joined together with bolts and the internal box is heated due to the flow of flu gases. I modelled the contact of two boxes...
