PD,
Procedure is to create a series of surfaces which form a closed envelope, then Stitch them. If SE finds a volume which can be solidified when the surfaces are Stitched, it will offer you this option (to create a BodyFeature).

TG,
Revolve a (closed) semi-circle to create your sphere, then use the Thinwall command to shell it. Remember to use DRIVING dimensions to control your Profile, otherwise you will have to re-enter the Profile environment and select the individual element any time you want to make a change.

Louis,
If you want the spring to look realistic for rendering purposes etc. you could create a toroidal ring representing one coil of the wire, then create a radial pattern to fill the spring (if circular) - the wire won't form a helix, but it will take a sharp eye to notice! If the spring's...
If all the protrusions need to be projected normal to the sphere AND maintain a 'true' profile, you may need to use a combination of (eg) a revolved protrusion and circular pattern to create each 'row' in turn.
Revolved protrusions using Open Profiles are enormously powerful.
Phil,
Unfortunately there is no shortcut or hotkey way to force Intellisketch to only select the desired option. Many of us have expressed a wish for hotkey options to enhance Intellisketch's behaviour - eg 'C' to lock a line directly to a circle or arc Centre, 'M' for Midpoint etc.
A good...
dk,
I suggest that you review the technique you are using to create your Profile (sketch) planes. Sketching on existing faces of the model, or linking planes to faces or keypoints in the model is inherently 'fragile'. Creating global or local profile planes which rely ONLY on robust datums is a...
Steve,
On each Background sheet in Draft where you want to see the watermark, place the required text etc. and assign a Style to control the size/appearance of the text. For example, you might want to use an outline font in a light grey. Don't forget to set the attributes of the watermark such...
James,
What you are seeing is VERY typical of ATI Rage-128 cards, and even the low-end FireGL series. If you have an ATI graphics adaptor in your machine, I would recommend investigating other options (nVidia Quadro-FX for example).
Qwertyu,
There are several ways of creating a cylindrical cam, but my personal favourite is to use a sheetmetal 'shell' which can have the cam slot created in the unbent state then re-wrapped. This can be used as a Construction part, just to provide the sweep path for the cam groove.
Up until...
