An idea to throw around.
Why not go with a thin skin with an exoskeleton bonded to the outer surface. Scaffolding pipe for example at 500mm centres around the circumference. Scaf pipe has male female ends to guide and lock sections into place. U brackets aligned vertically on the steel outer...
There's a whole range of characteristics that will effect opening shock G-load;
payload, velocity on opening, altitude on opening, air density on opening, type of chute (square/round), exhaust opening(s), steerable/non steerable, chute square area, aerodynamics of chute, packing method...
I used to build cool rooms and freezers from polystyrene and steel skins some 25+ years ago. Given that these building had to endure 40C+ outside and -10c inside moisture was always a concern. Any moisture penetration meant that it would condense and eventually freeze blowing the panel or a...
A start stop scenario for diesels in winter is not good. Hard on preheaters solenoids and batteries. I'd tend to go with LPG as a first choice in this case.

As an aside here's a little engine designed for the Ultralight aviation market. It was designed and built by some auto engineers in Christchurch NZ in a small workshop.
Areotwin in the US have taken up the International distribution rights for this engine.
It's a 2 cyl 4 stroke EFI with turbo...
I use the fully blown version of DAP on a cable connection and it pulled it in 70secs. Much faster than normal - got lucky with traffic I think.
Check your cache settings - probably not the problem but I've seen it reported lately as a work around.
Sometimes if you pull off multiple servers...
It looks like your problem is primarily the adhesive if you are loosing adhesion to both the carbon fibre and the alloy plate.
If finding a suitable adhesive that bonds well to both materials is a problem then a sandwich solution may be your answer eg; adhesive 1 between the plate and another...
Rather than try and 'solid' fix the grating why not let it float. To keep it in place simply fix a beading around the edges to maintain its location.
Another option is to use clips with some degree of springiness to tolerate loading and unloading etc.
Other options are wire ties and stainless...

Chico,
I did all my parachuting in the army many years ago. The worst affect of sudden stops was during the ground training phase.
We did quite a lot of tower jumps with a std harness with para straps which where attached to an overhead wire cable which acted very much like a flying fox...
You'll be lucky to find much on parachuting or bungy jumping. I doubt the affects (if any) have warranted much study.
I can personally attest to the fact that parachuting and bundgy jumping have no noticeable affect on the body. I had waaaaay too much adrenelin in the system to even notice such...
