Most efficient way to create models for web?

Be careful and check your internal surfaces for faces that might show proprietary information. You can use section view to see the internals. You can delete surfaces individually to remove proprietary or unnessary surfaces and reduce the file size.

Most efficient way to create models for web?

What is the most efficient way of creating models for a web site down load (step, iges, etc). The model will be of small assys with internal propriatary content to be removed from inside. Save as part? Create an individual part model? Use the Cavity feature twice?

How do I reduce file size with Configurations

I currently have a assembly model that has about 50 parts and three sub-assemblies (usally 2 components), We vary 3 dimension by turning on and off distance contraints. The rest of the components are standard 3 point constraints. We use the configurations to assign unique part numbers for...

How do you copy properties in configurations

The properties are configuration specific. There are about 20 of them (part number, rev draw date etc..)that copy when I create a new configuration of a detail part. When I make a new derived configuration of a assembly the properties are empty. I then have to manually add all the properties...

How do you copy properties in configurations

When you add a derived configuration, SW doesn't inherit the custom properties. Is there a macro for this. It would be nice if there was a check box when creating a new configuration for "Inherit Properties". This would copy the properties from the active configuration.

The other method is to click on the green box around each drawing view and look under "Display style" in the left hand column. If the...

How do you increase resolution in iso (2D) drawing view

I am trying to create camera ready art work from Solidworks drafting. I created two orthoganal standard views and a isometric view with shaded and edges on. I then try to send the image to acrobat for a PDF and it prints the orthoganal view in high resolution (1200 DPI) but the iso view looks...

Linking Model properties & Drawing properties for PDMW

Model properties and Drawing properties seem to be independent. 99% percent of the time they are the same. Is there a way of tying them together when entering the information for use in PDMW. This would reduce our entry time and decrease our error/inconsistancy rate. Currently our drawing...
