    Sea water lift pump

Hi Artisi The number has not been finalized. The preliminary numbers are listed below. The flow will be 1000m3/h, and DP will be 1400 kPag. At this stage, we already talked with several European suppliers. However, the project is located in NA, and we prefer to find some local suppliers. Hi...

Take account corrosión allowance in flange thickness? in a bolted semiconfined gasket conection.

Considering CA on Flange thickness typically is not required. Reason: 1. your flange both sides are not directly contact with the liquid. so there is no corrosion. 2. Flange design is typically rigid design. a local corrosion (such as inter corner of flange) will not affect integrity of flange.

    Tank overturning design criteria.

some background info from API meeting about why and how the change happen in 12th version API 650. 1) Open top tanks are subjected to no roof wind uplift. Under current rules, controlling formulas see 60% of the design horizontal wind in the empty condition. This results in overturning that...

    Tank overturning design criteria.

I am working on a tank which is required non-anchorage design due to civil reason. the tank is equipped with supported cone roof ( roof is supported by structure column from tank floor and beam). The 12th edition API 650 is giving two criteria for us to choose. Unanchored tanks shall meet the...

a ring at pump inlet to improve the NPSH?

Thanks for all of above advice. the pump have been tested, yes, the NPSHr became lower than requirement after installation of the ring ( I even do not know how to call it). However, the power efficiency became lower than expacted number. Right now, we do not have any other choice. Since the...

a ring at pump inlet to improve the NPSH?

We have ordered a large liquid centrifigul pump (over 500HP) . After running the test, the NPSH can not meet the requirment. So the vendor offer two options to us. 1. add a inducer which I can understand but is not allowed by the client's spec. 2. install a fixed ring at inlet of pump. It will...

What is the required hydro test pressure for vessels going to China?

In Chinese pressure vessel STD GB-150, you have to test it per 1.5Xdesign pressure. However, if your vessel is design based on ASME VIII Div 1 with U stamp, I believe that the Chinese "Boiler Pressure Vessel inspection and supervision House" may also accepte it. In this case, You can do...

the largest nozzle is 3" only. the only way to inspect it is to insert a camera inside the vessel. I know somebody use it to inspect internals (nonpressure parts) and never saw anybody to use it inspect weld seam. Is here somebody have the experience? THX
