EE, thank you!
And some other athttp://www.tipmaster.com/images/thumbsup2.giftachment info in there for FMC.

David, Your point is well taken. All is fine until seismic shaking begins. (Seismic zone 4, per 2001 CBC). EMT moves around creates some thrust, comes apart at the compression fittings, detaches at the straps, (because it attached to OSB), cuts through the insulation at the end of the conduit...
PHovnanian,
Thank your for your reply. While the Electrical plans reference SMACNA for seismic and attachment, The SMACNA book (that I have) dosen't get into references regarding attachment....
You asked,
"what is the exact SMACNA requirement for distances from beginning/end of sweep to the...
Good points here.
The CBC (california) limits FMC to 6' lengths. however, this can be
modified/changed by the EE, by insuring that there is a grounding conductor within the flex.
The reasoning behind the short lengths is grounding (who would have thought).
The CEC, NEC, NFPA all have listed...
EEJamie,
Thank you for your reply. DSA & OSHPD yes. Electrician---no. It's my weakest discipline.
The contractor is weak also.
I did send this on to the SE, 5 days ago, and haven't received an answer as of yet. I was informed yesterday by the AOR that the SE has been out of town, (the AOR was...
The Elec drawings specify to reference SMACNA for Seismic and Attachment.
SMACNA guidelines mention attachment at 'change of direction' ie a 90* bend or sweep.
Q) is this required on all 3/4" and 1" EMT sweeps through out the project?
Q) And, would this be a "typical" installation for small...
Thank you for your interest in this.
with another's help I found this....

Thanks guys for your reply's.
BAretired, Out of Protocol, I wrote this up and sent ti to the AOR asking that the Electrical Engineer review the device that the Elec Contractor wanted to use.
It appears that the Elec Eng. never got the email. I'm thinking I'll have to send it to him myself and...
The Elec. contractor wants to place his (2 per classroom) die cast alloy floor boxes upon home made galvanized metal strap 'chairs' attached to the subsoil w/spikes.
This blows the concept of avoiding a path for electrolysis or corrosion.
AOR says its 'means and methods'.
I think it wrong...

TXStr and JLNJ,
Thank you for your response.
TX, A307 is what is spificied for the bolts. (mild steel machine bolts). The rebar is being adjusted as opposed to bending the bolts.
JLNJ, Re: "acceptable bend ratio"... elsewhere in the plans regarding the "top plate", the SE notes a maximum bend...
Please direct me to the right publication. One that decribes the acceptable bend ratio of hex head anchor bolts into CMU/Concrete. These are for the ledger angles and bearing plates. The bolts are between .75" & 1.250" dia X (between) 9" and 12" in length.
I have read ASTM's A36, A307. CBC ch...

Plans callout for 'continuous' horiz rebar (some #5, some #6)at the Slab On Grade level (also in the code). Plans also specify additional increased lap at the chord steel (rebar).
Q)three part. Isn't the Slab On Grade...
