Hi to all,
For the revamp of a fertilizer/ammonia plant, I have some pipes with design conditions 228Barg @ 450°C(syngas). Because of the high hydrogen pressure, I use stainless steel. Is it possible to find seamless stainless steel pipes 16"x42mm and 24"x65mm according ASTM A312(304)? Or do I...
Hi,
Is it common to order dual certified stainless steel fittings and pipe (304/304L) to benefit of the properties of both materials? Or is there a higher probability that such pipe/fittings can't be delivered?
For a revamp of a plant, I need to select some pipe/fitting materials. Because some of the gases have a high hydrogen partial pressure, I've used the Nelson curves as a basis for material selection. Has anyone additional advice or guidelines for hydrogen service besides Nelson and API941?

In Europe, following the new European standards (EN13480-3 for piping or EN13445-3 for unfired press. vessels), the proof test shall be a hydrostatic pressure test (exceptions however are possible) The pressure equals the max of (1.43*design pressure) or {1.25*design pressure*allowstress...
The pressures that are indicated in the pressure/temperature tables for flanges, are these
the maximum allowable pressures at that temperature taken into account internal pressure and external bending moments+axial forces, or do they give the maximum internal pressure for the flange at a certain...
