My question is more directed about the dimensions of the generic part of the family table. Part of my problem has to do with part numbering convention of my company. In order for our custom PLM system work properly, my generic part has to be in the format of 123456-123.
For example, I have...
Hi,
I am working on a new drawing format and trying to sort out an issue with my parameters.
In this new format, I avoid using parameters placed in tables. I would not want the user to be able to modify the table or its contents when working on the drawing. So I sketched all of the areas, in...
Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to convert an already created cosmetic feature into a sketch? I have a shrink-wrapped sleeve with a lot of graphics created via a cosmetic feature. In order for me to wrap them on the can, they have to be sketches.
Thanks.
I would also recommend looking into Component Interfaces, as it can save you a lot time. You can find a nice little tutorial here: http://www.imakenews.com/ptcexpress/e_article000899504.cfm?x=b11,0,w
At my current place, we are using NA (next assembly) parameter which indicates in which top level assembly a component is being used. I guess you should be able to set it up this way, but you would have to manually enter the data into the parameter anyway, especially if its a generic component...
I can model a coil with .014 diameter x-sec, .25 inch diameter and pitch of .1 just fine in lengths from .1 to 1 inch or greater. I think your issue may be with the sweep profile dimensions.
I have had to do the same numerous times, only on injection molded parts. I went a slightly different way, though. I created a protrusion to the slanted surface and then made a parallel cut a certain distance away from the slanted surface. That way you do not have to draft the logo much, if...
Is there a chance that some of those holes could be Cosmetic features that you can get rid of with View, Show/Erase, click on Erase button and click on Cosmetic Feature icon?
I have not played with WF5 yet, but you should be able to just redefine the constrain without having to reassemble the part. If you cannot see the surfaces/features you need to redefine, then you can just move the part out of the way. Removing the part from assembly may cause issues with other...
One way you could do it is to sweep a section (your wire diameter) along a curve or section. This is typically avoided as it makes the model large and harder to work with (hence, Pro/Cabling). It helps to make it less painful if you sweep it as a surface, instead of the solid.
Good luck.
If you want the common parts in one location, you would need to setup a PDM. Otherwise, you would need to keep ALL files (assemblies, drawings, etc.) in just ONE folder.
As you may have already picked up, ProE uses a 'working directory' where it saves all of the files that are a part of an...
Hello. I am looking to find a proper way to dimension gussets in sheetmetal applications. Does any one know of good way or a standard that is used to do so? Thank you.
