"A dimension could not becreated from the selected items"

Thanks Jeff. What if I had a pre-existing view (that included a sketch) and I pulled in a view of a different component? To give you better idea, I am creating a drawing of a cable assy. I had an exisitng drawing that I could use to create the new drawing, so I just used the current drawing...

"A dimension could not becreated from the selected items"

I am in the process of creating a drawing that uses drawing views plus sketched lines. For some reason I can't dimension between the drawing view and the sketched lines. Is there something that I need to do to make Solidworks allow this to happen...it is very annoying. Thanks, CJ

    Animating an exploded view?

Thanks for your help. I actually used Mr. Captor to create an AVI file. But then when I sent the file to my client, Media Player won't play the video because it has a problem loading codec! I was able to play it no problem on my laptop, but not on my wife's (same problem) So I used Video...

    Animating an exploded view?

CorBlimeyLimey, thanks for the help. I am such a novice when it comes to animation. Could you tell me what I would do. I run Rx, but then in order to save the file, I would need to enter a description of the "problem", and enter my e-mail address. Do I need to do this part (I don't have a...

    Adding a Logo to part

CorBlimeyLimey, Thanks for all of your help. I still can't seem to get it right.....I am a bit frustrated. Is there any chance that I might be able to e-mail you a couple files for you to look at and see if you can determine what is going on? thanks, Chris

    Adding a Logo to part

I don't think I would be able to trace over it, but I did download WinTopo. So, I just open the JPEG file in WinTopo and then "One Touch Vectorisation" the image and save it as a DXF? Is that correct so far? If that is correct, how do I then get that added to the part file?

    Adding a Logo to part

CorBlimeyLimey, I think I already tried that method, but had the result you stated. It didn't show in the drawing (and I don't have Photoworks). The logo is a JPEG file....I think it was created with Photoshop. Is there a way to take the logo and transform it into sketched entities?

    Adding a Logo to part

I don't have PhotoWorks add-in. It is a silkscreen. I have no idea how the initial part file was created. I don't know what type of file was used (jpeg, eps....etc) to create the logo on the part. In the feature tree, it is simply a Sketch and I can't find any "reference" that the sketch was...

    Adding a Logo to part

I am having the most difficult trying to figure this out. I am working with a client's existing file that has their outdated logo on it. They want me to add their new logo. I have a JPEG file for it. How in the world do I add this to my part file? I am using SW 2006. Please help me....I am at...

    ProE template format into SolidWorks

I have a client that needs some drawings created. Unfortunately, their custom templates with their company logo are done in ProE. They sent me their template files, but I have no idea what I need to do to make them compatable with SolidWorks 2006. Does anyone know what I need to do? Do I just...
