I have a client that needs some drawings created. Unfortunately, their custom templates with their company logo are done in ProE. They sent me their template files, but I have no idea what I need to do to make them compatable with SolidWorks 2006. Does anyone know what I need to do? Do I just bite the bullet and recreate them in SolidWorks?

Thanks

What file extension are they?

The file is actually a .frm file....but it is a zipped file. When I open the zip file it looks like this assem_c frm.1

Can they make a dwg or dxf from their template?

Not sure, but I will ask them

cjm23,
Bit the bullet and recreate them in SolidWorks. That way you would have the properties set to your standards. You could even use your own tools to fill in the title block information, notes and revision blocks. Your data would be kept with the models. You may already have a format you could modify to match theirs.
We moved from AutoCAD to SolidWorks and spent more time trying to convert the AutoCAD template then it took to finally just redraw the template.
Good luck.

Converting anything from ACAD to a solids CAD is a pain. It is always easier and more efficiant to start from scratch.

I thrid Bradley's comment. As a user of both Pro/E and SWx their are some things that just work out better if created in the native system. You should be able to create the templetes with to many problems. Now if you had to create Pro/E templets *.frm files that would be a real PITA.
