You can prestress columns to take a temporalily tension state. For example, if you have a high freatic level in a deep foundation, some columns of the building could work like tension members until the weight of the high levels be enough.

Prex is right. If the structure is important, we must do a deep "debugging" of the model. 3D truss cover of soccer stadium is not the same than roof truss of my garage. We ever must put our structural model on the safe side. But, in this point, let me "take the ball drop on the...
In theory, trusses must be designed with pinned joints.
But... actually we design "rigid joints" when detailing a real trusses. We make joints details with a steel pieces a lot more rigid than the bars they join (with a lot of bolts and go on...).
Then, rigid joins are not so far than...
Hi, Sunny:
AutoCAD works only 256 color pattern for his own. For more colours you must import "materials" from other packages (like 3dStudio).
Same way for transparent hatch patterns (importing transparent materials or textures)

This is a good routine
;;; FLATTEN.LSP version 2k.01, 25-Jun-1999
;;;
;;; FLATTEN sets the Z-coordinates of these types of objects to 0
;;; in the World Coordinate System:
;;; "3DFACE" "ARC" "ATTDEF" "CIRCLE" "DIMENSION"
...
Other way (with ACAD2000) is "editing" the Z coordinates with the Properties dialog. Previously you must select a entire or part of drawing, open the dialog, and then force the Z coordinate to 0.
Cheers
Qshake is right. Circles cannot be a polylines. You must define a circle with command called "Ellipse" (circle will be an ellipse with equal radios)

Dear ybnrml:
You are right. I'd seen the bug ocurrs when I use BTRIM, BEXTEND and other commands from Express Tools. Have Autodesk a patch for this troubles? Securely not.
Thank you, man!!!
With ACAD2000 Express Tools you have a command for "flatten" 3D entities. You can download the Express Tools package from AutoDesk site.
Cheers
I was using ACAD2000 with Win2000 during 9 months. At last weeks, after 5-7 hours session, my drawing "goes back" about an 1-2 hour of operations. No way to recover the last modifications directly. Then I must to set "autosave" about 10min. and recover the backup.
