Is there any regulation which requires a nitrogen blanket into atmospheric storage tanks that contain flammable liquids? I could not find anything in NFPA - but there might be - typically these tanks are aound 10000 gallons each.... Help....
The few rotary kilns I have seen have a sight glass or some type of camera to see the flame. The bluer the flame the better. Check also the exhaust gases to see if their is any extra oxygen out the stack.

For you and others, Ansimag does not have a pump out there that has survived high concentrations of nitric acid. They sold lots of pumps, but not have lasted.
I have a question -- we have a UL 142 tank which we will need to put a vacuum releif on and wanted to know if the standard allows these tanks any vacuum rating whatsoever . If none, then how does one put a vacuum relef on such a tank.....

What is the norm for purging vessels while in operation? We typically keep a constant purge of 50 scfh ( 70 acfh) of nitrogen on at all times no matter what size of reactor we have and they vary from 500 gallon to 4000 gallon.
We still purge the vessels with a presure purge before chemicals...
Let me explain further, we are going to store napthalene in a stoarge tank and use steam to keep it warm. Can I get the napthalene too hot and thus degrade the product? If so, what temperature would that be?
I am stumped or forgot to to do a calculation - if I have a 1000 gallon under zero pressure ( atmosheric) - I have about 133 cf of air ( 7.5 gallons per CF).. but if I pressurze that vessel with air, then I will have more air in the vessel but I forgot how to figure that volume out.....

25362 - I ran the test aagin and waited longer for the sample to be taken. The pressure in the vessel was taken to 10 psig.. The nitrogen is 99.5 % purity. The results were as follows:
