I need to develop an economical small preheat exchanger on the exhaust of a 1400F oxidizer/burner @ 300scfm inlet airflow expanded to ACFM @ 1400F.
I need to keep the DP low
I will run at 1400F inlet on the hot side and 150F inlet on the cold side.
Questions I have:
Is there a simple generic...
Is it legal for a licensed electrician to replace a capacitor in a single phase explosion-proof motor? Baldor stated today that the motor looses its UL rating unless the capacitor is replaced in a UL motor shop. Very inconvenient for a 10 minute repair.
The motor capacitors are replaced by...
We have a 4" and 6" groundwater recovery pipe header that is approximately 3000ft long. Historically, 15% HCL mixture has been pumped through the pipe in 5000 gallons shots to loosen the scale. The pipes are Fiberglass and now require additional treatment. We are considering switching gears...
I have a question on having engineer PE seals applied and when it is applicable.
First, we are an OEM and we manufacture various pollution control equipment. One piece of equipment is a flare which is self supporting. We have done the due-dillengence of having a PE run calcs and verify the...
I am doing a slab for (2) 20K concrete tanks. The tanks are 10'6" diameter each and total weight with water is about 25,000# each.
I need to design the slab to support the weight. The slab will be 37'x37'x6" thick, but I was going to do an interior support that is about 24' x 12' x 9.5" thick...
I have an Aluminum blower that has TCE fume passing through it at roughly 2500ppm at a flow rate of 600cfm. The blower wheel and housing is Aluminum. The wheel and fan internals have a surface area of approximately 7.5sqft.
I am trying to calculation a rough estimate of rate of corrosion...
It appears that it is KMnO4 (Potasium Permanganante. In reading online, I see several references that show Inconel corrossion with mild amounts of KMn04 in the stream. FYI, the hastelloy is not exposed to the Sodium Hydroxide solution.
I have an application where we have a quench scrubber before a tower. The temperature probe between the quench and scrubber is Inconel 600 and after about 1 week, it looked sandblasted and came apart. The operating temp is about 120-175F and no higher. The quench water will have relatively low...
We manufacture knock out tanks (www.prm-net.com). For 2000scfm@10" Hg, the vessel would be based on your needs.
Assuming the tank is outdoors:
If it is simple SVE with not much water estimated, then I would go with a 42"D x 96"H vessel.
If this is dual phase, then it changes things...
We are treating chlorinated compounds through an electric cat ox. The heating chamber raised the temp to 800-900F and is manufactured from 304. about 2' downstream the material changes to AL6XN and temp up to 1000F. HCL is generated as the gas passes through the cats and the AL6XN is...
If oxidation is an issue, we would paint accordingly where needed. Typical equipment indoors will not have an issue. I did not want to drag out in analysis of the metals. We have built about 10-15 units of AL with no detected adverse affects. I was just trying to reach out and see if anyone...
We have historically manufactured 5-150HP blower base frame packages from carbon steel. We are transitioning to AL. These base frames typically consist of a motor direct drive to a blowerhead on a frame. By changing to AL, we have agreed that we may need to beef up the frames accordingly, but...
Looking for someone who knows a contact or contact co. with resources in Beijing China for RedLion Datastation controls. We have some connectivity issues and need a rep onsite.
I am looking for anode sheet material supplier for building small hydrolysis cells to make O2 by submerging the anodes in water. I have a source from denora, but the plate material is >$1K for a single 24" x 35" sheet x .060. I expect a premium, but don't want to send a sales guy on vacation...
I have a simple slab about 40x70 that will be 6" thick for general walking traffic.
There is a 38'x 20' section of the slab that will have some heavy equipment. There will be a 3500 gallon vertical tank (6'D) that weighs about 32,000# full of water.
Can someone please advise on some quick...
That was part of my concern...down the road? I think that if they use the proper installation protocol and complete the piping install, blow out the lines and then pull the hose with proper lube, then they will be fine.
The something is petroleum contaminated water. I started as an electrician 20+ years ago and we have no issues with the pulls....I am just very concerned/ticked that the client thinks that snaking through as the pipe is laid is a good idea. It leaves room for major issues down the road.
