Thanks justkeepgiviner,
That is exactly right. Pro/E was rounding to the accuracy of the dimension property. And you can actually change it even after creating the pattern.
Thanks again...

Hi again. In case your problem is about getting started with Java (as opposed to J-link), here is an introduction I wrote to help out a friend. I am a novice to Java so I might have some things wrong, but I went through all of these steps when I was trying to get started using Java so that I...
Hi,
I am new to this too, but I'll give it my best explanation. Do you have the J-link user's guide? You can find it at:
<proe_loadpoint>/jlink/jlinkug.pdf
To set an environment variable on a Windows XP computer:
Click Start > Control Panel > System
Click Advanced > Environment Variables...
Hi mehit,
I also found that thread on this forum and went through the process of trying to get it to work for myself. Eventually I did get it working... I wrote a FAQ about the experience that might be useful to you:

From my experience, this task (modifying a model) can be...
Hi,
I created a table pattern at the part level. I formatted a text file and saved it as .ptb to import into the pattern table (as desribed by Hora in thread554-11277).
My problem is that when the file is read into Pro/Engineer, the values are all rounded to 3 decimal places. Is there a way to...
I followed looslib's instructions to get to the help topics documentation (never would have figured that out on my own!), but I haven't been able to download it so far. I entered my username and password, and even went back to doublecheck that I remembered it correctly, but when I click the link...
If you are one of those people (like me) who are constantly taking screen shots of your ProE models to paste into PowerPoint, etc, then I have some good news for you ;)
You can dramatically improve the way your models appear directly onscreen by using Photorender: View -> Model Setup ->...
Hi - I have a question on thread554-155134 which was posted in May. Is the correct thing to do to start a new thread? In other forums that I have used, most members did not appreciate old threads being resurrected, so that is why I am posting this as a follow-up question.
The thread is about...
Hi 3dlogix, can I ask you a question about that? The reason that I end up using a lot of screen captures instead of outputting to a file is that it has been my experience that whenever I save to a file, the image doesn't look the same as it looked on my screen. Usually the colors are different...

The point of this FAQ is to describe how you can drive Pro/Engineer using Excel... there is a good article on this that was published by Profiles Magazine (link below) that you will want to check out, but I have combined information from that article with other information I gleaned off of the...
Just wanted to let everyone here (and any future posters who might come across this thread while searching...) know that I got this to work. So far I have tried it on one other computer as well and it worked there, so the trail file is at least somewhat portable (both computers were PCs running...
Searching for info on trail files online I came across this post by looslib:
"The purpose of trail files is to allow you to rebuild a model after Pro/E crashes because of an illegal operation. They are not designed to be used to make similar parts to another design that someone just happens to...
Sorry if I'm overposting in this thread...
I figured out how to set the default working directory. It's actually really easy. If you're running ProE from the command line, it will open with the default working being the prompt you were at, ie:
C:\My Documents>...
Hi JohnAndrews,
That config.pro option makes it so that when you go to File -> Open, the folder that pops up is your working directory. What I want to do is change what that working directory is.
Hi again guys,
I have created a trail file and am running it from the command line with the following input:
proe.exe -g:no_graphics mytrailfile.txt
(I use the full filepath to proe.exe and mytrailfile.txt, just abbreviating it here for clarity).
The purpose of the trail file is to open ProE...
Thank you looslib, I can't believe I didn't think of that!
That solves my immediate problem; I would still be interested in a list of command line arguments if anyone can point me towards a source for that information...
thanks,
David
Does anyone know of a list of all the arguments that can be used when launching ProEngineer from the command line? I have tried searching the ProE help and also online, but I haven't been able to find anything. The only commands I know are the ones I have gleaned from other threads.
Right now I...
