What are the most common reasons that Caesar ii diverges ?

if you have any restraints which are not effective during operating case (uplift) take the friction coefficient off the support or it will cause the convergence

    NACE ISO15156

I wasn't sure if welded attachments were also required to meet the requirements. I will request the same material specification as the shell for the welded attachments like clips re-pads etc but without the NACE requirement. Thanks for the reply.

    NACE ISO15156

I have a pressure vessel which is in sour service and needs to comply with NACE and the plate needs to be HIC tested. Is it acceptable for the external welded attachments not in contact with the process fluid i.e support saddles etc to be non NACE compliant. Does NACE only apply to wetted...

Local Load due to Piping on a Flat Plate

I don't think it will qualify as a special flange because it is basically a 3" nozzle welded directly on to a 24" blind flange. The opening is relatively small compared to the blind diameter. How would I assess the loads applied to this branch at the nozzle / blind junction? Thanks in advance.

Local Load due to Piping on a Flat Plate

Is there any guidance for calculating local stresses on a blind flange due to piping loads. WRC107 / 297 cover cylindrical and spherical shells but what about flat covers etc and fin fan headers. Is there any guidance in asme viii or asme b31.3?

    Nozzle stress intensity factors

Tom Thanks for your help. Further to my original question and on a slightly different topic. When compress calculates the stresses in the nozzle wall itself it doesn't appear to calculate the combined stress intensities as detailed in WRC297. How does compress address the combined stresses due...

    Nozzle stress intensity factors

Thanks Tom, Is the calculated factor I included in WRC 107 or 297 or the Code. What I really need to know is can I input 1 as a user defined SIF and comply with Code requirements. Thanks in advance.

    Nozzle stress intensity factors

When calculating stresses due to nozzle loads Compress calculates a stress intensity factor in accordance with PVP vol 399. I was under the impression that these need not be calculated unless you are looking for peak stresses for fatigue duties and 1 should be used unless fatigue is an issue. Is...
