Thanks IRstuff and I apologize for not posting it earlier. Is the ASTM 303 the correct spec for calling this out (sand cast/machine parts)..the ASTM D5452 refers to cleanliness of aviation fuels. Or is the just a generalize generic spec?
Thanks for your input.....the info i have calls this particular test a Milli Pore Test and references ASTM 303. Does anybody have any experience with the test mentioned above?
Im looking for an ASTM Cleanliness Spec...I think its ASTM 303 but all I can find is ASTM F303 which i believe is for fluid cleanliness. Does anyone have experience with the ASTM cleanliness spec? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ah sorry......the ground would most likely go thru the board to the conductive pad and not thru a ring terminal........sorry...mechanical guy working on a pcb here...
Thanks Mike,
However, why is the ground connection unreliable. I would have a ring terminal screwed directly on the board thru the shield sandwiching the PCB conductive pad to the conductive side of the shield. You must know something I dont...can you please go into detail. Thanks...
Thanks for your input....the underside of the shield however, cannot be conductive, thus plating or painting one side would be a good solution....i'll look into the conductive paint...thanks again
Hello all,
I looking for a platable plastic thats capable of 125c. Unfortunately, PC/ABS blends are boarderline. Can any one recommend a high-temp platable plastic that is easily capable of 125c.
I'm starting a sheet metal drawing with the flat layout. The bend notes show up, but not the bendlines. I thought these coincide together. Does anyone know if and where the setting is to show bendlines. Thanks
Is it possible to create an isometric section view in the model to be used in the drawing. I have saved a section view several times to be used in the drawing but i doesn't come in sectioned. Any help would be appreciated.
I should state that right now this is a sand cast and will eventually be converted into a die casting. I apologize that im such a newb but my company doesn't usually produce high volume production products and in the past no one has really implemented GD&T so its hard to reference other parts...
Heres the housing, not very complex, but im looking for reasonable places to put cast datums/manufacturing datums. Are cast datums just for casting purposes or are they there for manufacturing as...
that is very complex....it appears there are nice flat datum target points casted in via slides. This particular casting doesn't have slides. Im going to try to post a picture.
Thanks for your reply...you cleared the cast, manufacturing, and funtional datums up for me. Is it common practice to put a manufacturing datum in the center of the cast part, which you would have to use a parrelel jig to find center or is it better to butt up against the edge of the casting...
I am currently preparing to do a machining drawing from a cast housing and trying to establish the datums. I have taken a class on GD&T some time ago and know enough to be dangerous, but do not use is that often, unfortunately so does my boss. I would like to set up the primary, secondary, and...
