it is possible to take a nickle shell (like that from a 30-31 model A) and silver solder mods. Then have it coppered and plated. I did it once for a guy who was building a T-bucket. Turned out Ok. The advantage is you can use other platables and solder it to the shell too.
I have an aluminum part that is made out of 5052 then bright dip ano. will not pass a 16 hour CASS. Any ideas? Is this not an ideal alloy? My thought is perhaps the seal is not correct.
