    I have a cast steel end shield from an electric motor that is cracked in 3 places.It is only about 10mm thick and every time I weld it the weld cracks.I am using 680s electrodes as this is all we have.Any comments or hints would be great. Graham

    I need to shrink fit a brass slip ring onto a mica covered shaft.The slip ring is approx 8.00" OD with a bore of 4.25".The shaft has about 1/8" thickness of mica wound onto it.How muck interferance do I need and what sort of temperature should I heat the slip ring to?
