Selecting variables in assembly optimization study

What you might also be able to try is to use thicken sketch. Because it seems you can not select sketch dimensions but you are able to select feature dimensions. I have tried out your problem on my own computer and I was able to select sketch dimensions so it is strange you are ubable to.

Feature weld vs End weld in Pro mechanica

Hi Steve, I am using a fillet weld. I also found the geometry is totally different. Because it makes an extra surface on top of the weld and it connects the beam directly aswell. Which makes the difference explainable. In the attachment I made a pdf with the results of my comparison between...

Feature weld vs End weld in Pro mechanica

When I use the end weld the stress results are higher. I also found that the end weld is more sensitive to mesh refinements compared to feature welds.

Feature weld vs End weld in Pro mechanica

Does any one have some experience with the difference between feature weld and end weld? I wanted to research the effect on stress in my model using the two different types so I have an indication what error I am making when using the end weld. Assuming feature weld is more accurate but slower...

    Shell thickness in Cosmos

Hello, Currently i am working on a big assembly in Cosmos, off course using the shell method. In Cosmos you need to define the shell thickness but it uses the shell as a midplane. In a assembly it makes it necessary to keep a distance between some parts because of this and drawing the shell as...
