I just tried to recreate the problem you are having, but was unsuccessful. Maybe it's a worksheet option or something. I would try to copy the expression and result into a worksheet that you know works and see what happens.
We use at our office a HP DesignJet 800 series plotter, and that works pretty well if you like a 24x36 sheet every 5 minutes 15 seconds. I think that they are running about $3500 currently.
I have also seen and herd good things about the HP DesignJet 500 series, they are running right around...
Here is a like to lsp file that will take care of what you're looking for. I think that it worked better than the internal AutoCAD flatten:

I know that you are able to go "Tools" -> "Option" and then under the "Open and Save" Tab, change the Save as: setting to "AutoCAD 2000/LT2000 Drawing (*.dwg).
This will ensure that just about everyone that you are sending files to will be able to open them.
From my understanding, a purlin is a architectural accent that protrudes from the roof structure like a cantilever. So how can a so called purlin be simply supported???
This doesn't sound like a winning situation. It will be very difficulty to relieve the pour water pressure from behind the retaining wall without some kind of excavation.
You may have the option of repainting the interior wall with an epoxy paint that will resist the water intrusion, but the...
There is a program made and supported by dotsoft called XL2CAD. I believe the most current version is 4.0 which is the one that I'm currently using. It has a lot of great features including auto-update when reopening a drawing with that object in the file.

And that's the point I'm shooting for. I see some of the reply's are gearing toward the CAD side, but i'm focusing on the modeling side of the analysis for only a (3) story building. I know that a high rise building is a hole different animal.
I am planning on modeling an existing structure via staad|pro.
Knowing that it's a model and not the construction documents, is it acceptable to round your models dimension up to the next whole inch or even foot in some cases? I know that most FEA software's out there have the ability to go to...
I am looking to model a (3) story building using staad|pro. The center of the structure will consist of a concrete core with a structural steel frame surrounding the core. Regarding the center core of the structure, do I need to model this using a shear wall in staad OR do I just fix those...
