Hmm, well there are lots of avenues in which to chose for a career, both of your options open up different doors. I work for a company that offers wireline services and we run a wireline unit (although this is not the majority of our business, we are a fishing company and typically work...
Thanks for the valuable input!
The problem with barium scale that doesn't make it soluble in water though is that it reacts with different types of formation fluids to form barium sulfate or the like.
After speaking to some chemical guys, we've found that pre-treating the produced water in the...
Is there any way to dissolve barium scale? I know that acids don't dissolve it and if it is encountered in a well that it is typically milled out, but is there any other way to remove it from a wellbore without milling?
then to answer your jar question, you need to jar your pipe with more weight than your string weight. Like 30 or 40K over string weight (I've never calculated what you need to jar, and I don't know if there is a way to calculate how much you should jar). But, back to my first response, the...
check the max string weight that the pipe can withstand, and try not to exceed it.
We had to shear a tubing anchor once and had to pull over the string weight, but that should be your guide as to how much stress the threads can handle.
ok, thanks for the answers, but neither one answered my question. I'm not talking about centrifugal pumps, I'm talking about positive displacement pumps. Volumetric efficiency is one kind of efficiency, now simply, what is the other type of efficiency?
What kind of pump efficiency is there other than volumetric? I'm thinking it would be Horsepower, but I'm not completely sure.
This question is in regards to a pump on a drilling or workover rig.
