    Generator Inspection

From my opinion, if you megger and do IP, and measure of resistence..... and do a trend each year.... you´ll see how insulation goes.... and maybe this is enough... i remember Leroy used to varnish generators with VPI system, I think maybe you have to see visual things like, the lost of magnetic...

    Generator Inspection

Ok, like user I have to say EDA, is a good tool but too much expensive if you only wants to check one generator or two.... in this way best thing is to subcontract... and yes, sometimes I see EDA find problems like short turns in the rotor... and the most important thing, it´s a good way to know...

    Generator Inspection

hi, i´m technician from Indar Electrical Machines in Spain, and we use EDA, for testing generators... and near Portugal there´s other companies like EMENASA in Vigo that they could help you. If you are interested I could tell you the typical testings for this machines, our main market are this...

how to select the right varistor for a syncronous generator

yes, it´s on the rotating diode plate, and i don´t know how to size them and as it´s a generator i have no good relations with the manufacturer, cause some faults in the commisioning i can´t ask them. thanks.

how to select the right varistor for a syncronous generator

I got a syncronous generator, and the varistor blow up, and i don´t know the value of the new varistor.... the generator is 2100 KW and the voltage of the stator is 3000V how to select it? i think dynamic resistence is important, thanks a lot

brake of a permanent magnet syncronous motor

yes, the normal stop will be with the driver... but this is for braking for safety reasons.... and this is a propeller that moves a little ship. thanks a lot.

brake of a permanent magnet syncronous motor

sreid, have you some link to this IR quartz heating elements?? thanks all of you

brake of a permanent magnet syncronous motor

the motor is a 100 kw syncronous permanent magnet... and the voltage will be 400 volts... 24 poles... I still wondering how much power i´ll need in the resistance.. other idea is to take 2 phases rectify it and put in the other phase and in other of the phases i rectify... what do you think...

    stator on the oven... trend

does somebody knows more literature around this point??

brake of a permanent magnet syncronous motor

sorry, but what is BEMF?? and the power? cause as this will have a short time brake.. maybe this resistence taking the peak phase voltage/sqrt 3 / maximum peak current.... is for continuous braking in the theorical way that this values is no decreasing.... sorry for my badly english.

thanks this page is sucesful.... i think i have to read this page

    stator on the oven... trend

but why that particular trend? why up, then down and up again??

brake of a permanent magnet syncronous motor

I´ll use a propeller with permanent magnet syncronous motor.. and i´ll like to brake with short circuit resistence...how could i define the value of the resistence? I think the value must be determined by the inertia of the load and the magnetism of the rotor...but i´ll like to know if it´s...

    stator on the oven... trend

hi, i had read in a manual (Marelli generators, Italy) that they talk about generators heating to take out humidity on the oven, and you´ll see a trend... and recomendations, in example, measurements of isolation each hour... and you´ll see, the trend of insulation rise and after some time...

    saturation on a current transformer

the problem is: i measure in the medida cogeneracion 1 in example pf 0,96, but i read on my device 0,93...and i was wondering if this problem is cause some saturation or deformation of the sine wave coming from the CT. Yes, capacity of the generators is 1860 kw but if you use them on 0,93 pf...

    saturation on a current transformer

hi, slavag, i attached the diagram of the factory, and the underexcitation is the capacitive side of the generator.... as you see in this metering we only read the pf of the generator with the step on transformer... I see we have a 22 kv voltage transformer and a 50 A current transformer, If you...

    saturation on a current transformer

slava, thanks a lot for your reply.... the situation is the next.... we have two facturation points...the generation point... and two, the factory point.... and the problem is that in the generation counter, we mesure in example 0,96 subexcite, and in our manufactured device we measure 0,93...

    saturation on a current transformer

If i got a current transformer rated in example for 200 A and I put through it 250 A, what would be the sinuidal wave, is it possible to get some error in the angle?. This question is cause, my company manufacture a device that works with the power factor, and we mount in a factory, it works...

    polarisation index problem

yes, this is what i thought, PI is not dependent on temperature.... and for me other question to worry about is that in the factory, they write in the text bench, that the PI is 6...¿?. About the equipment used is a Chauvin Arnoix megger that could go till 1000 Gigas, 5000 V, and the voltage...

    polarisation index problem

we got an 160 rpm aprox. generator, 18 MW, manufactured two years ago with resin rich insulation, and the machine was stopped in the hydro power plant 1,5 years, after this we measured insulation....it was in the beginning low, less than 100 Megas, after we swicht on heating resistences, the...
