Our Director of Engineering is from Germany, so I have handed it off to her for evaluation. Thanks for the info!!

    ALUMINUM ROLLER BURNISH SERVICE TEMPERATURES

Thanks TVP, we were responding at the same time. I will look that up. You say "about 250"? If we got some confirmation on a 250-260 range there would be no worries.

    ALUMINUM ROLLER BURNISH SERVICE TEMPERATURES

We have talked to Faigue Tech in the past about their cold work and bushings. I will be asking them about this also. The the early version of this part was not roller burnished, but the OEM started to incoporates it later in production. It is a life limited part, so we assume the process was...

    ALUMINUM ROLLER BURNISH SERVICE TEMPERATURES

Good idea, I will look at that for info. Just to clarify, the final use of this part will NOT see a continuous 250F. During final assy it experiences the temps for a breif time(60 min) during an adhesive cure. Some concern has been raised wheteher this degree/time frame would do harm to the...

    ALUMINUM ROLLER BURNISH SERVICE TEMPERATURES

Our company is producing a 6061 aluminum extrusion product which has a number of holes that require roller burnishing. The process itself has been successful, but I am looking for input on service temp limits of the part after the burnishing has been completed. I ask the question because we...

    twisting rotorblades

We are one of Erickson's primary sheetmetal/composite parts suppliers and have a long history with them. You are corrct in that they have the package for the S-64(E and F). It is my understanding that they did not, however, get the tail rotor drawings. Rumor has it that Sikorsky held those...

    twisting rotorblades

Yes, we are going STC/PMA. The STC approves the product, but the PMA approves the the manufacturing/QA process. They go hand in hand. This has been in progress for almost a year. We have completed several STC/PMA programs in the past for other parts and are fully aware of all the regulatory and...

    twisting rotorblades

I have contacted Hexcell, but am not real hopefull. We have talked to them before about composite issues and they are great, but I don't know if they have very much extrusion processing capability. Thanks for the tip. These blades are going on a restricted category a/c. Fires are one opf their...

    twisting rotorblades

My company is now in the process of manufacturing tail blades for a customer to go on their fleet of CH-54B skycranes. We have pretty much solved all the problems in resurrecting the parts except for the twisting of the aluminum spar. Does anyone have info on a facility that has done similar...
