Yeah...I had started the prog couple days before your last reply...so I had just stucked with it...and I was actually finish and everything was fine except for the .data part having to clear.
I actually had notice that if a new message string comes in, it writes over the old string...but thats...
One last question. How do you clear out all the text strings in the data TAG string? ex: MYTAG.DATA.
Would I have to just zero out the the first Word of MYDATA? ex: MYTAG.LEN
I'm not sure what you mean, can you give an example if you dont mind. I'm sorry I'm kinda new in PLC. I've only made 2programs with supervision and this text string stuff is new to me.
Hello everyone,
I have a PLC controllogix that an OCR system will write to through an ethernet gateway module.
I'm trying to figure out how to write a logic that will read 8 text string messages within 1 long text string message seperated by delimiters ";" and place them into 8 tag string.
I...
Just a brief info of what our project was for this company; was to change out their 35yr old system to a modern control system using Modicon PLC. We had an Engineer that was working on this project but left our company w/o any warning. The only info he had left on this project was couple pages...
Ok...thanks for this info. I will surely keep that in mind. As for "how to post pics"...I will have to look into that when I get home and definitely use it.
As for this project, this system is so old that the P&ID's are hand drawn so... I will have to go back to that company site anyways...
ScottyUK,
I must've typed this wrong:
"But, unfortunately there's none...or is there?"
I'm sorry if that offended you. What I meant to ask was if there was a Controls or Process forum here?...but my mind was going faster than my typing.
The only thing I know about that pump is what I just...
Someone asked what a CIP was so...that website was to give some general info in how a CIP system work not to describe the pump in question. The CSS pump, I had described already. If you read again...its a circulatory supply pump from a reclaim tank controlled by a Variable Frequency Drive.
But...
Sorry, I didnt realize I'll get a respond this quick.
CIP is a clean in place and I thought that acronym is as common as PID, PLC...etc., and since we were in the subject of CIP, I thought CSS pump will be known. CSS is a circulatory supply pump, pumping 425gpm, coming out from a water reclaim...
Hello,
Just graduated as an electrical engineer.
Anyway, I am evaluating I/O's for a CIP System. On one of their CSS 425gpm pumps (coming from a Water Reclaim Tank), it said 2in/2out, with Analog 1in/1out. What would these I/O's be? The analog I/O might be for a VFD and the other 2in/2out I'm...
