Has anyone heard of "inductive glue"? An internet search yields references to gluing machines for woodworking. Also insertion of wooden dowels. I am looking at different bonding technologies for flexible electronic circuitry and inductive gluing was mentioned as a method.

Thank you ScottyUK, I'll check these materials out.
tygerdawg - I'll be sure to keep you informed of what I decide to do with our bond method and material type!

I also neglected to mention that the bonds need to be electrically conductive. Glue is good if there's a good low profile conductive variety I suppose. It needs to have a very thin bond-line thickness. The tabs are terminals on a small battery. The tab sizes are roughly .12 wide x .15 and are...
I have two flexible circuit materials - Polyimide (PI), and Polyethylene Terephalate (PET). I need to bond a thin metal tab to flexible circuit pads on each of these substrates. I have 4 different methods of bonding:
1. Solder
2. Ultrasonic welding
3. Laser welding
4. ICF/ACF (Isotropic...
Hello - I had a problem representing an assembly that is potted and wanted to represent the potting material without the internal components interfering during interference analysis. I edited the potting material in the context of the assembly and used the mold cavity feature to subtract out the...
Thank you. I will indeed ease into this. Most of the fittings specified in my product are stainless steel. However to adapt to some of them, the only of the shelf items are Ni plated brass.

Hi unclesyd,
Some of the most common environments would be salt spray, water, petroleum (oil, oil byproducts), detergents, solvents, textiles, UV (if outside), plastics, paints, rubber, and natural gas.

Does anyone know of a good way to import a Solidworks drawing format into Microsoft Word? We need a consistent look to our documents and our software development group wants to use the mechanical drawing format as a template.
Thanks in advance!

Sueflow - Thanks for the input. The Matt Lombard color macros appear to do something although I'm not sure its doing what I'm expecting. The other macros at his site work very well.
I keep getting this nagging feeling that because I am running 2008 on a 64bit machine, there are issues that...
Folks,
I am having a heck of a time managing colors of parts, faces, features, bodies, etc, etc, etc. Now throw Realview Graphics into the mix and I'm not sure which end is up! I know there are macros and threads out there that allow you to reset colors etc for older revisions of Solidworks. Is...
Hi,
If you still see the leaders of the dimensions but the text is not there, or is a small dot, try changing the Doc Properties settings to "Always display text at the same size"

Hello again!
You can hide or show sketches just like datum features - planes, points, coordinate systems, etcetera. Hiding the sketch will also hide the pic associated with it.

Hi Nexim,
Yes it is. I do this many times when I do not have a complete specification for a component that I am using in a design. Most of the time, the spec's only contain key dimensions. The remainder of the drawing is undefined. I grab a copy of this spec with a screen capture and place it...
Hello - I have an application where I need to capture a .14" thick plastic wall (PVDF)with an NPT adapter and a 1/4 NPT nut. I do not know what torque to use as I do not want to compress the plastic wall causing plastic "creep". The joint also does not want to rotate as this will loosen the nut...
