Is a nickel plated brass adapter ok to use in a refinery or a petro-chemical environment?

Hi unclesyd,

Some of the most common environments would be salt spray, water, petroleum (oil, oil byproducts), detergents, solvents, textiles, UV (if outside), plastics, paints, rubber, and natural gas.

About the best way I can think to approach your problem is in the fact that some fittings for water service are nickel plated. I think it will be better than a plain brass/bronze fitting.

Depending on the integrity of the plate Ni is used in some fairly rough environments.

Without specific tests versus each media I would ease into using it.

Thank you. I will indeed ease into this. Most of the fittings specified in my product are stainless steel. However to adapt to some of them, the only of the shelf items are Ni plated brass.
