    SW2009 DVD's Arrived Yet?

I have not received mine yet. You can always download it through the Solidworks customer portal though if you'd like it now. I have tested 2009 again 2008 and it is amazing! It processes so much faster. When I ran a benchmark with 2008 it took 180 seconds and with 2009 it took 138 seconds...

    Hardware Help

If you have a 32bit operating system you should have 3gb of ram in you computer. Solidworks will only use 2 of it, but the other GB with be put to good use elsewhere. Your processor is very weak. You should try and get a hold of an AMD Athlon X2 FX 6000 or higher. You really want around 3ghz...

    Prevent toolbars from changing?

I've been using solidworks for about 3 years now and have never taken the time to ask, but now I can't take it anymore. Is there a way to keep my toolbars the same all of the time? Like AutoCad, or pretty much any program for that matter. I don't always use the same templates and I don't want...

    Solidworks Performance Question

I have a PC with Windows XP 64 on it and solidworks x64 2008. My pc has 4gb ram in it and when I run a benchmark, it takes about 180 seconds total(I/O about 55 sec.). If I keep everything the same, but use 8gb ram the benchmark runs the exact time. My I/O, CPU, GPU are all virtually identical to...

    Select Parts or Assemblies?

I want to know if there is a way or filter or something that when I click on a face of a part(in an assembly) it picks the whole part vs. that face? Is there a way to pick the sub-assembly it's part of by clicking that face? I tire of selecting a face, then finding the highlighted part in my...

Create a New Part By Mirroring?

Is there a way to mirror a piece and make it it's own seperate part? I need a right and left hand part which needs to be unlinked to each other and fully editable(has all the features just like the original) Is it possible? Thanks, Joel Solidworks 2008 SP4.0

    additional sheets

I'd really like to have it preset. I've noticed that when I add a sheet, Solidworks asks me to select a template. So I believe there should be a setting somewhere to permanently have an alternate template on additional sheets.

    additional sheets

When I create a drawing from my part, I also need to create additional sheets within that drawing for welds, inpection and so on. On each sheet that I add, I want my title block to be different than the primary page(reduced in size). I don't want to simply create 6 sheets or something pre-setup...

I don't know what happened, but when I try and modify my dimension heights the text box is grayed out so I can't select it. I can still use my styles manager. Any Ideas of what is going on?
