I would recommend going into the draw in view command and adding the centerlines there. This will allow you to dimension to it later in your detail veiw.

We use Illustrator here to make thread-up diagrams for our manufacturing process. Our conversion takes a few steps:
1. Save your Solid Edge draft as a .dwg file.
2. Open it with Acad 14 or 2000 and export it as a .eps file. This type of file seemed to work best for us.

We use Adobe Distiller 4.0 here. The only issues we have had is with the Solid Edge symbology. Weld symbols are our biggest problems. Those errors are common to most translators.

From my experience there are three things that we did to make our assemblies open and saves faster:
1) Make sure that all parts are properly constrained and all links are correct. The newer versions of SE helps elimnate the need, but every little bit of speed helps.
