Good morning all
I've lost my formatting somehow, I'll back track on that later when I have time and find my back up, but for now could anyone please give me a clue on a small issue I've managed to invent!!
On my drawing when I create a simple length dimension but place the dimension and arrows...
Good evening folks
I'm a ProE beginner running WF4 and trying to learn how to model gears accurately. I've trawled the web and have found the link below, which seems to give me 2 options on how to create the involute curve on the tooth. Unfortunately I'm not at the level yet where I can clearly...
OK
Thanks guys.
I'll see what happens with the .neu format.
Regarding step files, am I right in assuming I could create a complete model part in WF4, save it as a .stp and use that in a WF3 assembly, as long as the part itself required no editing?
I think I'd probably be better trying to...
Hi folks.
I'm still very much a newbie and I'm sure I've seen posts regarding this on here, but my searches are coming up blank so obviously not using the right terminology.
I have WF4 at home and WF3 at work, obvious problem is that ProE is not backward compatible.
Is there a way that I can...
Cheers for all the info folks, beginning to see the light now. I have my config and search files up and running and just starting to look at all the various options available.
I think I can count this one as resolved.
Hmmm. Just been looking at the config.pro example from Ben. It looks scary and complicated to me. I was really hoping to start off with something simple initially, or am I just being simple? :o)
I also ran my work colleagues config.pro file at...
OK, back again. Thanks again for those files Ben.
Right, again apologies for being think, but just for clarification for a dummy (Me)
Load point - Does that mean where WF3 resides on my HDD, in my case C:\Program Files\proeWildfire 3.0\text, I think that's correct, but just checking

Thanks again Ben
That sounds fairly simple, but do I need this config.sup? If so, what goes in there and where should that live and where should I locate my shiny new .pro file I will create?
Thanks for the advice.
PS I PM'd you my address in case you get chance to send a sample.
Thanks looslib, that could be useful. I think the main issue I have is search paths, I'll be sharing certain existing models with a colleague who does the heavy duty stuff, most of these are on various network drives. Is there another way to do that other than config.pro. I'd like that example...
Thanks dgallup
I did trawl through the help files and found too much info, such that I'm non the wiser. It seems they can be placed in various locations, I need a config.sup and possibly a config.win. It tells me a config.pro can be in my loading directory, where ProE lives, and also in various...
Hi folks
I'm a complete newbie at ProE, so apologies for any stupid questions in advance.
I have Wildfire 3 and I seem to have managed to install it without setting up any config files. I've done some reading on it, and I think I could really do with these, especially for search paths and...
