Did you figure it out yet...? You need to set the variable "CMDDIA" to 1. This variable is usually turned off in lisp files to kill the dialog boxes from poping up. Probably, a lisp file set this variable to 0 and was killed before it was able to set it back to 1. Hope this helped...
