Ethyl Silicate or similar binders seem to be ideal for my casting process. It is water soluble, minimally reactive, and able to withstand high temperatures.
I have contacted several investment casting supply companies for more information, but my interest has not been returned, I fear because...
Ok I have another problem, when I go to save the sketch as a pdf, it cuts the sides of the sketch off and forces the PDF into a letter sized page.
How can I get it to save as a PDF with a landscape sizing?
I have an assembly that I am trying to overlay a concept sketch on.
I made a drawing and sketched the concept on top of a cutaway view of the assembly. It looks good except the lines are not thick or highlighted, how can I get them to stand out a bit more?
Is there any reason why using a slurry coating as a solid mold, like a plaster mold in a vacuum flask, won't work?
I have a casting process that currently uses a vacuum flask, and a plaster to cast non-ferrous alloys. Due to the superheat and reactivity of my copper casts, it has become a real...
I have all the equipment for baking out the wax, and a vacuum flask setup for creating the mold.
Here's another interesting question, which I am going to post in another thread because it deserves the attention.
Can something that is normally used as a slurry coating, be used as a solid...
Hey everyone, this is my first post.
I need to make a plaster mold that is non reactive with copper and can be removed with ease. The mold will be highly intricate, so the copper is poured at a superheat temp of 2100F. Any ideas?
So far I have done this:
